ASB plans upperclassmen ski trip

ski tripASB technical coordinator junior Will Strimling said, “We chose Squaw Valley because there lots of activities are provided besides just skiing.”

Students have a choice between skiing or going to Squaw Valley, which is in the center of town, where students can go shopping.

Strimling also said it was the best mountain to ski on for every skill level.

Prices will be about $45 to take the bus to Squaw Valley, around $100 for bus and ski lift tickets, and around $105 for bus, lift tickets, rentals and optional half day lessons.

Brown said the option was made in an attempt to make the trip as inclusive as possible.

“ASB talked a lot about the prices,” said Marie St-Claire, Junior Vice President of ASB. “We know it’s a lot more expensive than it has been in the past. We try to keep the price in mind, but it is expensive and we know that.”

“I think that the prices are very high, but necessary,” Junior Astrid Gallagher-Holmes said.

Scholarships are also available; students should connect with their class reps regarding scholarships.

“No one should stay home because they cannot afford to go, so scholarships are provided,” Brown said.
