Broken intercom plagues students

Two out of the five intercoms are not working properly, according to Millenium principal Ting Hsu. She believes that there are also intercoms at Piedmont High School that are not working either.

“My understanding is that the district office has plans on getting them fixed district-wide by installing a new system” Tsu said.

Students believe that it is important to have the intercoms working in order to be able to know what is going on at the school and if there are any important meetings going on.

“Most of the time students will talk right after brunch, so you can barley hear the announcements but if they all worked, teachers could make the students listen more,” said Senior Georgia Hill.

In many other rooms the students cannot hear the announcements because there are no intercoms in that room.

“In some rooms we can’t hear them at all. There isn’t even an intercom. It keeps Millenium High School students out of the community because we often don’t know what’s going on, and we find out about PHS events the week or day of,” said Senior Sage Leibenson.
