The Senior Awards Night was held on May 29 at 7 pm, in which many seniors won plaques and trophies as a symbol of their hard work and dedication. In addition, senior Matt Leong was awarded the title of valedictorian and senior Cooper Wetherbee was awarded salutatorian.
“I’m excited to represent the class as salutatorian, and it’s rewarding to see four years of hard work pay off with this recognition,” Wetherbee said.
Some notable award winners were senior Hannah Watry, who was given the Excellence in Spanish Trophy and the Demolay Social Science Trophy, and senior Aristotle Magganas, who was awarded the newly christened Eileen Rohmer Science Award along with the English Trophy.
“I was just so thrilled to be up there with one of my best friends and my favorite teacher/mentor,” said senior Elizabeth Fetterolf, who won the Senior Drama Directors Plaque.
The full list of award winners will be available in the print edition of The Piedmont Highlander on June 10.
