Meet Me @ Piedmont Ave. Seasonal Drinks

Meet+Me+%40+Piedmont+Ave.+Seasonal+Drinks

Tis the season of foggy mornings, falling leaves, frosty windows, never ending songs about Rudolph, bundling in your significant other’s sweatshirt, last seasons Uggs and of course, warm holiday seasonal drinks. As the countdown to the winter holiday season begins, we decided to get into the merry spirit by trying the recommended holiday specials at all the cafes on Piedmont Ave, regardless of previous bias. On our adventure, we surveyed all coffee shops, however only some had holiday specialty drinks. Here is the naughty or nice holiday drink list of the year:

A must-try for all coffee lovers or those in need of comfort on a dreary day. The warm coffee is potent, yet still velvety. The hint of peppermint is very subtle, but cuts through the richness of the creamy mocha just enough to please one’s taste buds. Although a little pricey, the drink definitely lives up to expectations. Usher in the holiday season with a classic red, snowflake patterned cup of deliciousness.

If you’re looking for a nice holiday drink option that does not contain coffee, this is it. The baristas can spice up your hot chocolate with a variety of holiday flavors, including pumpkin spice, eggnog and peppermint. The flavors are light, and add a hint of holiday spirit to your classic hot chocolate. The hot chocolate will be a hit with those who prefer a  creamy texture over a heavy chocolate flavor.

Starbucks, unfortunately did not make the nice list this year. The chestnut praline latte, proved to be more of a dessert than a warm drink, with a flavor that had more “feel” than flavor. If you’re in the mood to surround yourself with holiday scents and warmth, Starbucks is the place. However, the appearance and scent is deceiving, for the taste is unremarkable.
