Athletic Director Joe Welsh Resigns

On Thursday, students received the following email from the district announcing Athletic Director Joe Welsh’s resignation:

Dear PHS Community,

It is with regret that I announce the resignation of Director of Athletics Joe Welsh effective March 2, 2018. Joe’s passion for water polo has led to him to accept a varsity level coaching position at another school.

Since joining PHS in September 2017, Joe has been a valuable and well respected member of our community. His contributions to PHS are appreciated. His work with research-based programs such as Positive Coaching Alliance and Coaching Boys Into Men will serve as a strong foundation for student athlete support in the future. We will continue to build on his vision of positive team culture for our entire athletics program.

Please join me in thanking Joe for his efforts. The school administration will develop a plan for next steps and will share this information following our upcoming mid-winter break. Thank you for your support! Go Highlanders!

Sincerely,

Adam Littlefield, Principal
